Virtual 5k Run/Walk - Breton Bolt
Date: December 10-17th, 2023
Held yearly in conjunction with CEB-US Nationals
Leash up your Epagneul Breton and get ready to run (or walk) in our Second Annual ‘Breton Bolt’! This virtual 5k event will help support the CEB-US: an organization devoted to protecting, preserving, and promoting the Epagneul Breton in the United States. Since we are able to hold this event virtually, we welcome EB enthusiasts and dog lovers from across the country to participate!
If you are attending the CEB-US National Conclave this year, there is an option to run the 5k at the event. Check our Facebook and Instagram accounts (@CEB_US) to follow along with all the additional events our Conclave has to offer.
WHAT IS A VIRTUAL 5K?
A virtual 5k is a race you can run (or walk) at any location, at your own pace, outside or on a treadmill, alone or with a group of friends (or with your EB!).
HOW DO I TRACK MY DISTANCE AND TIME?
There are many apps you can download on your phone that will track your distance and time. RunKeeper, MapMyRun, and Strava are some of the more popular (and free) apps.
WHEN DO I COMPLETE MY RUN?
Our virtual 5k is set up to be completed between 12/10 - 12/17. You can run/walk any day or time between those dates, or complete at the National Conclave! Login to RunSignUp to report your time. If you don't want to report your time, there is an option to make the run complete without a time, too.
ARE THERE DIFFERENT CATEGORIES
Yes! We will have both running and walking divisions. We will award prizes for the fastest time (running and walking), happiest running buddy, and best race scenery.
HOW CAN WE WIN PRIZES?
Be sure to use the hashtag #bretonbolt5k and tag @ceb_us on your facebook or instagram posts to submit your entry for the above mentioned categories. Fastest time will be awarded based on your time logged.
IS THERE A GOODIE BAG?
You betcha! Every entry will receive a swag bag filled with a t-shirt, CEB Decal, and an item for your four legged buddy! With shipping and supply issues, we cannot guarantee delivery prior to the race. Registering early will increase your chances.
