CEB-US works with our members to preserve, protect, and promote the Epagneul Breton as a true French hunting dog through education, community, responsible breeding, and field and conformation programs that uphold the breed’s purpose and standard. Beyond events and programs, we serve as a central hub for the Epagneul Breton community, connecting members with knowledge, mentorship, and resources that support both new and experienced owners, breeders, and hunters.
CEB-US follows the official French breed standard, established over a century ago, which defines the Epagneul Breton worldwide and is overseen by the Club de l’Épagneul Breton in France. By adhering to this standard, our dogs remain true to the breed’s origins in both form and function. Thanks to the dedication of our breeders and owners, the Epagneul Breton maintains a unique balance of structure and performance, resulting in dogs with reliable health, predictable traits, and consistent abilities in the field and at home — every Breton should be both a capable hunting companion and a true reflection of the breed’s type.

Not at all. Many members join to learn, connect, and enjoy life with their dogs. Whether you’re a hunter, hobbyist, or simply passionate about the breed, you’ll find a welcoming community eager to share knowledge and support your journey.
There is no difference — they are the same breed. Officially, the breed is known as the Epagneul Breton. The term “French Brittany” was sometimes used by breeders in the U.S. as a simpler, more marketable name when the breed was first gaining a foothold here, but it is not an official designation. To stay true to the breed’s heritage, CEB-US uses Epagneul Breton, or EB for short.
Through regional clubs, national events, online resources, and mentorship, we connect people who share a passion for the Epagneul Breton. Members support each other — in the field, in the whelping box, in preserving the breed’s legacy, and by finding training partners or hunting buddies to enjoy the breed and bird dog tradition together.

The Epagneul Breton Foundation, Inc., is separate from the CEB-US. The Foundation is organized exclusively for educational, scientific, and charitable purposes to support and advance the Epagneul Breton. The Foundation assists the CEB-US with resources to help accomplish the CEB-US Mission Statement.

Great news — every active CEB-US member has full access to our breeder resources. No matter which membership tier you choose, you can list your kennel on the official Breeder List and submit litters for recognition through the Breton Breeder Achievement Awards.
Absolutely! Many of our members joined the club to learn about the breed and our community before finding their Breton.
It depends on the option you selected when you joined:
Auto-renewal: You’re all set! Your payment method on file will be charged at the end of the year, and your membership will continue without interruption.
Manual renewal: Simply log in to your membership portal to process your payment.
