2026 NATIONAL CONCLAVE
A Heartland Welcome Embraced the EB Community in Eureka. The 2026 CEB US National Conclave brought together Epagneul Breton enthusiasts from across the country in Eureka, Kansas, for another memorable week celebrating our remarkable breed. More than a series of events, the National Conclave continues to be a place where friendships are strengthened, knowledge is shared, and members come together through a common passion for the Epagneul Breton.
Throughout the week, members participated in educational seminars, conformation evaluations, field trials, and countless conversations that made the event just as rewarding outside the ring and field as it was during competition. Whether attending for the first time or continuing a long standing tradition, every participant helped make the 2026 National Conclave a success.
Below you will find the official results from the 2026 National Conclave, including field trial placements, conformation results, and award winners. Congratulations to everyone who participated and helped make this year's event another outstanding gathering of the CEB US community.
New to field trials or shows? They’re not intimidating — they’re fun, welcoming, and a great way to connect with your Breton and meet others who share your passion. Explore our Field Trial 101 and Conformation Show series to learn the basics, and read a first-hand account from a member who took the leap to attend a National Conclave.

Meet the Judges
Dominique Pozo
Mr. Pozo brought decades of experience with the Epagneul Breton as a breeder, hunter, and long time contributor to the breed. He began breeding Epagneul Bretons in 1988 under the "du Bois Courcol" affix and has since produced 30 Field Trial Champions, two Conformation and Morphology Champions, and several dogs that have competed on the French National Team in the AICEB.
He has hunted and worked dogs extensively throughout Europe, as well as in South Dakota and Arizona, with some of his favorite hunting taking place in Scandinavia in pursuit of Black Grouse. Mr. Pozo has served on the Club de l'Epagneul Breton in France since 2018 and currently serves as the organization's International Liaison, working with Epagneul Breton communities across multiple countries.
As the 2026 National Conclave Field Trial Judge, Mr. Pozo combined practical, real world experience with a thoughtful and approachable judging style. Fluent in English, he was able to communicate effectively with handlers and participants throughout the event, making his expertise accessible to all.

Thomas Chognard
Mr. Chognard's lifelong passion for hunting and dogs began as a child, spending time afield with his grandfather and his dogs. In 2015, he began breeding Epagneul Bretons under the "Des Mordorées Aux Gentianes" affix, producing several Field Trial Champions. That same year, he joined the Club de l'Epagneul Breton in France, where he currently serves as Secretary.
As a licensed FCI morphology judge for the Epagneul Breton, Mr. Chognard has judged at numerous prestigious exhibitions throughout France, including the Dijon International Exhibition, the Dole National Exhibition, the Saint Brieuc International Exhibition, and the Poitiers International Exhibition. He has also served as a TAN Evaluator since 2017.
In addition to his contributions within the Epagneul Breton community, Mr. Chognard is a practicing veterinarian in France. During the 2026 National Conclave, he shared his expertise through educational seminars on breed specific health considerations and techniques for presenting dogs in the conformation show ring.
