2026 NATIONAL CONCLAVE
A Heartland Welcome Awaits the EB Community in Eureka. The 2026 CEB-US National Conclave will gather Epagneul Breton enthusiasts from across the country in the welcoming town of Eureka, Kansas. This annual event is more than a schedule of activities — it’s where friendships grow, ideas are shared, and our community comes together around a shared love of the breed.
Through seminars, conformation evaluations, field trials, and plenty of time to connect, the Conclave offers a space to both celebrate and strengthen the Epagneul Breton. Whether you’re joining us for the first time or continuing a tradition, your presence is what makes the Conclave truly special. We can’t wait to see you in Eureka.

New to field trials or shows? They’re not intimidating — they’re fun, welcoming, and a great way to connect with your Breton and meet others who share your passion. Explore our Field Trial 101 and Conformation Show series to learn the basics, and read a first-hand account from a member who took the leap to attend a National Conclave.

Meet the Judges

Meet our Field Trial Judge,
Dominique Pozo
Mr. Pozo brings decades of experience with the Epagneul Breton as a breeder, hunter, and long-time contributor to the breed. He began breeding Epagneul Bretons in 1988 under the 'du Bois Courcol' affix and has since produced 30 Field Trial Champions, two Conformation/Morphology Champions, and several dogs that have competed on the French National Team in the AICEB.
He has hunted and worked dogs extensively throughout Europe, as well as in South Dakota and Arizona, with some of his favorite hunting taking place in Scandinavia pursuing Black Grouse. Mr. Pozo has served on the Club de l’Epagneul Breton (France) since 2018 and currently acts as International Liaison, working with EB communities across multiple countries.
As a licensed FCI Field Trial Judge, Mr. Pozo combines practical, real-world experience with a thoughtful and accessible judging approach. He is also fluent in English, making communication easy for all participants.

Meet our Show and TAN Judge,
Thomas Chognard
Mr. Chognard’s story mirrors that of many in the breed. His lifelong passion for hunting and dogs began as a child, spending time afield with his grandfather and his dogs. In 2015, he began breeding Epagneul Bretons under the 'Des Mordorées Aux Gentianes' affix, producing several Field Trial Champions. That same year, he joined the Club de l’Epagneul Breton (France), where he currently serves as Secretary.
Mr. Chognard is a licensed FCI morphology judge for the Epagneul Breton and has served as a TAN Evaluator since 2017. His judging experience includes the National Breeding Show in Selle-Saint-Denis (non-CACS classes), the Dijon International Exhibition (September 2024), the Dole National Exhibition (March 2025), the Saint-Brieuc International Exhibition (May 2026), and the Poitiers International Exhibition.
In addition to his work within the Epagneul Breton community, Mr. Chognard is a practicing veterinarian in France. He will lead seminars on breed-specific health considerations as well as how to best present your dog in the show ring.
