I have used the Gunner Kennels G1 Medium now for almost an entire season here in AZ, including a road trip to Montana.
I have been happy with the kennels, they are built using a double-walled rotomolded plastic (similar to a Yeti cooler). The result is a very rugged, crash test rated dog kennel that is built to last and comes with a lifetime warranty. The downside to the rugged construction is the weight: the medium G1 comes in at 36-38 lbs, per the manufacturer. The weight doesn’t sound that high, but in my experience they are slightly cumbersome to move due to a combination of weight and size.
The kennels come with stainless steel tie downs at each corner that are molded in to the structure and provide solid tie down points for travel. The door to the kennel comes with a good quality lift latch that is keyed so you can secure your dog if away from your vehicle for an extended period. The door also comes with a secondary lock system (picture) that I use more often than the keyed lock, and have been happy with. The kennels have also proven very easy to keep clean with a large threaded drain plug for cleaning out with a hose. My kennel purchase included Gunners branded tie down, which I recommend, if you can land a deal that includes them with the purchase.
In summation:
While Gunner kennels are expensive they are a well-designed, solidly built USA made product that can return years of safe travel for your dog, also, in my experience quality products always return greater re-sale down the road if your needs change
