Randy Meester Honored with 2025 Peter Ward Service Award

At the April 2025 CEB-US Annual Conclave in Iowa, Randy Meester of Wilton, Iowa, was named the 2025 recipient of the prestigious Peter Ward Service Award. This honor, presented annually by the Club de l'Épagneul Breton of the United States (CEB-US), recognizes long-time members who have demonstrated unwavering dedication and selfless volunteer service to the club and the greater Epagneul Breton community in the United States.

The selection committee, composed of previous recipients of the award, unanimously chose Randy for this well-deserved recognition. His extensive contributions to CEB-US and the Epagneul Breton breed over the years have left a lasting impact, making him an exemplary honoree.

A Legacy of Service

Randy and his wife, Vicki, have owned and operated Corn Country Bretons, a small, family-run kennel, for many years. Their breeding program has produced numerous outstanding Epagneul Bretons, furthering the breed’s excellence in the field and at home.

Since joining CEB-US, Randy has been a steadfast and generous supporter of the club. His dedication to service was previously recognized with an induction onto the Epagneul Breton Foundation Inc. Wall of Honor. His leadership within CEB-US spans nearly two decades, beginning with his tenure on the board in approximately 2006 and culminating in his role as CEB-US President from 2020 to 2022.

Beyond his leadership roles, Randy has been instrumental in the success of the club’s events and gatherings. He hosted the CEB-US National Conclaves in Muscatine, Iowa, in 2011 and 2016, and he and Vicki have consistently attended and volunteered at meetings across the country. Additionally, Randy has served on the Epagneul Breton Foundation, Inc. Board and has contributed significantly as a senior UKC Field Trial Judge. His involvement in NAVHDA has also helped raise awareness and appreciation for the Epagneul Breton breed beyond the CEB-US community.

A Quiet, Steady Force for the Breed

Randy Meester embodies the spirit of the Peter Ward Service Award through his tireless work, leadership, and commitment to the Epagneul Breton breed. He is always one to stand when a task needs to be completed, never shying away from the work that needs to be done. And, of course, he is never far from a cooler of cold beverages, ensuring that camaraderie and good spirits are always part of the experience.

On behalf of CEB-US and the entire Epagneul Breton community, we extend our heartfelt congratulations and deepest gratitude to Randy for his many years of service. Thank you, Randy, for your invaluable contributions and for setting a shining example of dedication and integrity for others to follow!
