Mr. Recondo is not just any judge — he is the current president of the Amicale Internationale des Clubs de l'Épagneul Breton (AICEB), the international governing body for our breed. His presence at our conclave signifies a deepening connection between the U.S. Epagneul Breton community and the global EB family, reaffirming our commitment to preserving and advancing the breed according to the highest standards.
A judge in Spain since 1988, Mr. Recondo has dedicated decades to understanding, evaluating, and refining the qualities that make an Epagneul Breton exceptional. He recently added Conformation judging credentials in 2023, but his expertise goes far beyond titles—he has been a devoted student of the Epagneul Breton since 1990 and a passionate advocate for pointing dogs even longer. His vast knowledge and experience will bring invaluable insight to our dogs and handlers, offering a rare opportunity to have our breeding stock assessed through the lens of an international expert.
A unique aspect of this tradition is having the European judge oversee the conformation specialty show and provide each dog with a conformation rating. This rating serves as a valuable tool for breeders and owners, helping to maintain and improve the quality of the breed by offering expert feedback based on European standards.
